Dr. Celia Rufo Martin

Research Interest

Celia’s research is focused on exploring the intersections of additive manufacturing, novel materials and structures, and multiscale experimental mechanics. The unprecedented freedom of 3D printing facilitates the progress of manufacturing techniques, the development of novel metamaterials that unlock multiphysical coupling for advanced responses, and the design of metastructures with unique mechanics. Celia aims to introduce a paradigm shift based on these concepts and, concurrently, improve the methodologies to characterize their uniqueness. She will also focus on expanding the state-of-the-art experimental testing and numerical modeling to comprehensively probe the multiscale response to multiphysical stimuli.
