Research Interest

Celia’s research revolves around the development and additive manufacturing of polymeric meta-materials and meta-structures with tailored mechanical properties for biomechanical applications. Over the last few years, conventional manufacturing has lost its predominance in industry niches where customization is necessary, making additive manufacturing bloom with new technologies and a vast space for development and implementation. Moreover, the Point-of-Care concept changed the paradigm in medicine, transpiring into an era of personalized patient devices. Thus, Celia will experimentally and numerically study the quasistatic and high strain rate mechanical response of designed structures using state-of-the-art techniques and develop novel materials that conform to biomedical standards.
